Happy Holidays

Well the last day of term has arrived and everyone in P1 and P2 is ready for the summer holidays. The school will close at 12.00pm on Friday. Thank you for the hard work you have put in at home with your children and for the support you have given over the year. It has been greatly appreciated. We looking forward to welcoming you back on Monday 24th August at 9.00am. Happy Holidays!

We all had a great time at our sports day. We were doing games and races and we even had a shot on the bouncy castle.

10th anniversary

Thank you to everyone who came last night to the Town Hall to join us in our 10th anniversary celebrations. It was a super evening and I'm sure you'll agree that all the children were wonderful. They have worked so hard in recent weeks learning lines, making props, singing songs and rehearsing different items. I think we will see some tired faces today - perhaps we'll have to introduce a new 'sleep walking' race for sports day!

pupil of the week P1 and P2

Well done to Ben who was pupil of the week in P2. He has been really kind to his friends and has continued to work exceptionally hard. Well done also to the whole of P1 who were all pupils of the week. They have had a super year and have learnt a tremendous amount.

Victoria and Elizabeth

Today we say goodbye to our nursery nurse students. Victoria and Elizabeth have been working with us for the whole year and have been a super help. We wish them both every success in their future studies. They were both awarded a pupil of the week certificate by Mrs Speirs.

P1 induction

Today we welcomed our new P1 children. We had a great morning and everyone is looking forward to coming back after the holidays.

reading

P1 have come to the end of their reading book so no more reading until the new term. They have all done so well this year with their reading and I am very pleased with them.

Next Week

Monday - 10th anniversary celebration - Greenock Town Hall - children to arrive at 7.00pm - full school uniform - event starts 7.30pm - tickets can still be purchased from school
Tuesday - sports day - children should wear p.e jogging bottoms or shorts and a tshirt the same colour as their house - rankin/green - ardgowan/red - lyle/blue
Wednesday - prize giving - full school uniform - Struthers Memorial Church - 1.00pm - children should be taken home after the service
Thursday - winning house day out - trip unniform - other children in school
Friday - children can bring in own toys to play with - trip uniform - school closes 12.00pm

This is our last week of work as next week is our activity week. On Friday children should bring either their school bag or a carrier bag to take home all the things from their desk and also their workbooks.

trip this week

P1/2 are going to Fun World this week for their trip. They can bring money to buy a snack. This will be our last trip of the term as next Wednesday is prize giving.

next week

Mrs Jewell will be teaching P1/2 all week as Miss Black is going to Paris with the older children. Mrs Dutch will be teaching P3/4. Mr Creighton and Miss Bell will also be in the school. Trip uniform can be worn for the whole week.

P1/2 pupil of the week

Well done to Amanda who wrote a fantastic piece of news this week and read some of her book to the class. Well done to April as well who has worked hard this week and also did a great piece of news writing.

We had a rather exciting play piece on our trip. You can see us all at different stages of eating our ice creams. Some people are choosing, some are eating and some have finished! They were very yummy!
